Harry D. Smith
(September 16, 1927 - May 25, 2016)

Harry D. Smith, 88, of Bryan and formerly of Franklin, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. He was born on September 16, 1927 in Corinth, Texas to Claude and Clara Crim Smith. He was a graduate of Grand Saline High School and Texas A&M University. He married Joyce Turner on June 1, 1956 in Quitman, Texas. Harry was employed with the Agriculture Extension Service as a county agent for 30years before his retirement in 1984. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Army in Japan. He had been a resident of Franklin for 60 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Franklin and the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Smith; sisters, Frances Rodgers and Avis Patterson.

He is survived by Wife – Joyce Smith of Bryan

Daughter and Son-in-law – Jan and Arnold Krammer of Bryan

2 Grandchildren – Douglas Krammer and wife Erm of College Station and Adam Krammer of San Francisco, Ca

3 Great Grandchildren – Avery, Mya and Nathan Krammer

Host of Nieces and Nephews

Services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Franklin. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Twin City Mission or to the First Baptist Church in Franklin.
