C S "Bo" Allen
May 11, 1927 - May 11, 2016

C S "Bo" Allen, son of Cooper Stedman and Mildred (Newton) Allen was born in Bryan on May 11, 1927 and left this life on Wednesday, May 11, 2016.

Growing up in the small town of Calvert, Texas, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming and playing high school football. He enjoyed times with his mother, father and older sister, Susan, as they would sing on the porch of their house.

Following his graduation from Calvert High School he attended Texas A&M University for a semester before joining the US Navy in 1945. After serving his country in the South Pacific from 1945 - 1947 he returned to Texas A&M to graduate in 1950 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. During this time he met his future wife, Willa Faye Shoap of Hearne, Texas.

After graduation Bo went to work for Conoco Oil in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Bo and Faye were married in December of 1950 in Hearne, Texas and returned to Ponca City and began to raise a family of four boys.

After 35 years and several moves ( Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Montana ) they retired and settled in College Station. There he joined the Texas A&M Development Foundation and worked 15 years before retiring for good. Apart from his love for family, Bo had two great passions; singing and Texas A&M. Bo loved to sing, especially barbershop quartet, and whether harmonizing locally with friends, directing a chorus, or travelling across the country to sing in competitions Bo could always find a song to sing. Texas A&M always had a special place in Bo's heart and he and his family took many trips to watch Texas A&M football games. He kept his season tickets for decades and was a 12th Man member. There was never any doubt that the Aggies would win!

Bo is survived by his sons, John Allen of Houston, Trent Allen of Scottsdale, Az., Neil and wife Soay Allen of Seaside, Ca. Oldest son, Michael Allen, preceded him in death in 2015. Also left behind are seven grandsons; Chris, Justin, Benjamin, Keir, Tyler, Jon and Jason, six granddaughters; Kendra, Kyle, Nicha, Sarah, Andrea and Jena as well as numerous great grandchildren.

A Life Celebration for Bo will be Monday, May 16, 2016 at 10:30am at Hillier Funeral Home, Bryan Chapel. Interment will follow at the Calvert City Cemetery.
