Raymond G Reesby
August 1926 — April 20, 2016

BOI August 1926, Died April 20, 2016.
He was a WWII Vet in the Philippines, Luzon, Manilla. Flame Thrower
Used the GI Bill to become a Civil and Structural Engineer from Texas A&M
Then got Master degree at Texas A&M on Wave Action. Class of 1952
Upon graduation became a Lieutenant in Army Corp of Engineers.
Projects during his service included the 5th and final section of the Galveston Seawall and the concreting of Braes Bayou in Houston.
He went into solo practice 1959 thru 2014.
On the design team for the Roof of Astrodome, based it on structure of a lotus flower.
Some of his projects were Marinas: Pier 66, Marina del Rey, San Francisco Marina –Extension
Was the engineer for the Broadwater Beach Hotel and Marina in Biloxi MS for which he won countless awards.
Was part of the Restoration of Galveston Strand which made him Go to guy for old Galveston buildings
Finally, he was on Parks Board and Wharves Commission for Galveston to be a better place.
He was a Toastmaster club member in 1950s.
Was an ice cream lifelong fanatic.
