Gerald Terence Watson
Gerald Terence Watson was born in Santo, Texas, November 16, 192[6]. He graduated Santo High School and served in the Navy and Marine Corps in World War II and Korea. He earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from North Texas State University
and his Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. In his 50-plus years as an educator he served in teaching and counseling roles at numerous schools across Texas, and throughout his tenure as a professor at Sam Houston State University he was respected by colleagues
and loved by his students. He was active in church activities and enjoyed fishing and bird watching. An early passion that lasted his lifetime was singing, playing and listening to music.
He is survived by his wife Ann Marie Watson and her children Chris Garrett and Kim James; his daughter, Cindy Duncan; his sons, Reid Watson and Don Watson; his grandchildren, Greg Duncan, Gary Duncan, Jesi Keller, Riley Watson, Katie James, Tyler James and
Lauren James; his great-grandchildren, Leland Duncan and Emma Keller; his brother Donald Watson and nephew Kenneth Watson.
Graveside service at 2:00 pm on Sunday April 24,2016 at Brooke Cemetery.
