Lewis Dean Messersmith was the son of Lewis Messersmith and Lena Murphy.
Lewis was a Communications Engineer for Mobile Pipeline Company and a Veteran of World War II. He died from injuries received while aboard Braniff Flight 352 when the aircraft broke up in mid-air and crashed in a field near Dawson, Texas. The aircraft was carrying five crew members and eighty passengers. There were no survivors
