Funeral: A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home.
Interment: A graveside service with military honors will follow the memorial at the Boerne Cemetery.

Jerry Randolph Houser of Bismarck, Arkansas, formerly of Boerne, San Antonio and Big Spring, Texas, went to be with His Lord Jesus Christ Saturday, April 2, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Jerry was born August 5, 1931, in Big Spring, Texas. Graduating from Big Spring High School, he proceeded to Texas A&M College where he received a BBA degree.

He served as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force and Texas Air National Guard during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, finally retiring as a Lt. Colonel after 20 years. During his life, he owned and flew numerous light aircraft and maintained a Commercial Pilot rating. He also held a Coast Guard Captain rating and was an avid lake and ocean sailor and diver. For a year Jerry and wife, Kelley, lived aboard their 37-foot sailboat, the Galatea, sailing the coastal waters of Belize and Guatemala.

Jerry obtained a law degree in 1968 from St. Mary's University in San Antonio and practiced in State and Federal Courts for more than twenty years. One of Jerry's other hobbies was writing. He authored and published two novels and numerous short stories and essays. In his later years, Jerry was a Realtor and Land Developer in Colorado, North Carolina, and Arkansas.

Jerry is preceded in death by his mother, Anne Gibson Houser of Big Spring, Texas, and father Edward "Tex" Houser of North Carolina. He is survived by wife of thirty-six years, Kelley Houser of Bismarck, Arkansas; brother, Edward Houser and wife Kay of Lubbock, Texas; and sister, Susan Houser Brinegar of Peoria, Arizona. Jerry's children include: Steven and wife Sandy of San Marcos, Texas, Baron and wife Lori of Boerne, Texas, and Edward and wife Reenie of Smithville, Texas. Jerry was "Opa" to nine grandchildren: Case of Killeen, Dylan of Boulder, Colorado, and Cassidy of San Marcos; Barrett, Regan, Sutton and Ethan of Boerne; and Sarah, mother to great-grandson Jackson, and Katherine of Smithville.

Jerry was beloved and will be greatly missed. His fun-loving spirit and quick wit will live on through memories of wonderful times spent together.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home. A graveside service with military honors will follow at the Boerne Cemetery.
