Dr. Robert S. Glover(1929 - 2016)
Dr. Robert S. Glover, age 86 of Trenton, passed away on Wednesday evening, April 27, 2016 at his home of natural causes.

He was born August 30, 1929 in Christian County, Kentucky the son of the late Robert G. and Ellen Spicer Glover.

He was a member of the Trenton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He served in the U.S. Army where he was a 1st Lieutenant and also with the 399th Regimen of the 100th Division KY Reserve Unit. He served on the board of the Logan-Todd Regional Water Commission for 19 years and Chairman of the Board for 10 years. When he was a teenager he traveled with Bill Monroe's baseball team. He was 1st baseman for the FBC baseball team in Auburn, Alabama from 1965-1968. He worked closely with Jimmy Carter and Sonny Perdue before they both became governors. He developed the 1st major in Economics at Austin Peay State University and served as the 1st Chairman of the Economic Department. For over 50 years he was on a college roster and he taught for over 25 years as well as doing research for 25 years. He taught at the following colleges and universities: Austin Peay State University, Texas A&M University, Stephen F. Austin University, University of Georgia, Brenau University, Embry Riddle, Tuskegee Institute and Auburn University.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Peggy Barnett Glover and one brother Ned A. Glover. He is survived by two daughters Lydia Phelps (Donald) of Huntsville, Alabama and Lycia Glover of Sandersville, Georgia; two sisters Patty Campbell of Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Linda Capps of Hunstville, Alabama. Also surviving are three grandchildren.

Visitation with the Glover family will be on Saturday from 12:00 until funeral service time at 2:00 at the Trenton Baptist Church. Funeral service is scheduled to be conducted on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the Trenton Baptist Church in Trenton with Rev. Dean Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Edgewood Cemetery in Trenton.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Trenton Baptist Church.
