Carl David Butemeyer

Carl David Butemeyer, 62, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in Duncan Oklahoma.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the First Christian Church, Duncan, with the Rev. Arnold Nelson Jr. officiating. Services are under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home. Duncan.
Carl was born Wednesday, February 10, 1954 in Houston, Texas to Dean Kimzey and Norma Jean (Russell) Butemeyer. He graduated from Lamar High School in Rosenberg, Texas, and attended Texas A&M University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design. He went on to work for architectural firms in Los Angeles, Austin, Houston, and Tulsa over the next 20 years. While in college Carl married Carolyn Ann Weiss, on August 2, 1972. Carl was interested in architecture and design, had an appreciation for antique furniture, and enjoyed woodwork, working on home improvement projects, reading, and watching classic movies.
Carl is survived by his children, Aaron Butemeyer , Hannah Butemeyer Covington and her husband Wes Covington, Ethan Butemeyer and two granddaughters: Avery and Olivia Covington. He is also survived by his Mother, Norma Thomson, his stepfather, Bill Thomson, and his siblings, Linda Grawunder and her husband Lonnie, Robert Butemeyer, John Butemeyer and his wife Bethany Toppert. Carl was preceded in death by his father, Dean Kimzey Butemeyer.
