James O. Collins
James O. Collins LUBBOCK-James O. Collins born Aug. 15, 1937, passed away at his home in Fredericksburg, Texas, April 24, 2016, after a short battle with cancer. James was born and grew up in Lubbock, Texas, graduating from LHS in 1955. He attended Texas A&M, graduated from Texas Tech and received his MBA from UNM. James married Ann Trigg in 1964 and throughout their time together lived in Albuquerque, N.M., Lubbock, Gunnison, Colo., and Fredericksburg. James retired from the dairy manufacturing business and then happily pursued a new career in travel, fishing, golf and spending lots of time with family and friends. James is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ann; daughter, Cathryn and husband Gerard; son, Trigg and wife Courtney; grandchildren, Van Collins and Hadley Collins; sister, Carol Douglass; brother, Howard Collins and wife Roma; nieces and nephews and many, many friends who all loved and appreciated James' kindness, thoughtfulness and terrific sense of humor. A private family memorial service will take place this summer where his wishes will be honored and his ashes scattered in the Gunnison River.
