T. Robert Arney
T. Robert Arney, 93, passed away April 16, 2016 in Schenectady, NY. He was born January 3, 1923 in Ranger, TX, to the late Manley Vern Arney and Leota (Gleason) Arney. He married his beloved wife, the late Julia (Monte) Arney of Schenectady, NY, in 1949. The couple had five children, Robert M. Arney of Cambridge, MA, Mary Ellen Wolfe of Boulder, CO, Susan K. Rossler of Schenectady, NY, the late Vern T. Arney, and Melissa A. Quinn of Boston, MA. Robert is also survived by his sister, Marjorie (Arney) Howton, of Greenville, Texas; eight grandchildren, Christopher Rossler, Daniel Wolfe, Corrina Navarette, Andrea Arney, Michael Wolfe, Elizabeth (Wolfe) Konish, Sarah Wolfe, and Kayla Quinn; five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Julianna, Alex, McKenzie and Owen; a great-great-grandson, Jaxon; and several nieces and nephews. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in engineering, and worked for General Electric in Schenectady for more than 35 years. He retired in 1983 to Sam Rayburn, Texas, where he was an avid golfer, sports fan, and a member of the Lake Rayburn Volunteer Fire Department. He returned to Schenectady in 2011 and spent his last years with his family. An informal memorial service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Mountain View Ave in Albany, NY, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. Donations can be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association in lieu of flowers.
