Edward Braden McAllister III was born on February 5, 1930 in Austin and grew up in San Antonio. He was in C Battery in the Texas Aggie class of 1951 where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. He served in the US Army Field Artillery as a Forward Observer in the Korean War, returning with a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with the V device for valor. He pursued his career in architecture in Houston where he took particular enjoyment in designing churches. He taught Bible study at Tallowood Baptist Church. He passed away the morning of April 21, 2016.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Florella McAllister, son Mark McAllister, daughter Sharon McAllister and granddaughters Rebecca and Julia McAllister. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, April 29, 2016 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Tallowood Baptist Church, 555 Tallowood, Houston, TX 77024.
