Donald H. "Don" Davis
January 30, 1934 - August 18, 2014

Funeral services for Donald H. “Don” Davis , age 80 of Henderson, will be held Thursday August 21, 2014 at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Higgs and Rev. Don Edmiston officiating. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis was born January 30, 1934 in Shreveport, La. to William Riley and Maude Beatrice Shirley Davis Hughes and died Monday August 18, 2014 at his home. Don lived in Henderson since 1996, and retired from Huntsman Chemical Corporation after 37 years as a plant manager. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he taught the Men’s Adult 7 Sunday school class. He was a Master Gardener in Rusk and Smith County. Don also taught Jobs for Life and Sunday school at Bradshaw State Prison, and ETTF,he also volunteered at the Texas A&M Agriculture Extension Center. He was also a member of the Gideon’s.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Davis Jr. and step father Cliff Hughes.
He is survived by his wife Victoria Davis of Henderson, daughters Denise Dorsey of The Woodlands, Desiree Newman and husband Kemp of Liberty, Donalee Dotson and husband Tim of The Woodlands, and Dawn Ramirez of Henderson, sister Barbara Cooper of Henderson, grandsons Denton Dorsey of Beaumont, Austin Dotson of The Woodlands, and Dalton Newman of Liberty, granddaughters Kelsey Newman of Liberty and Ashley Dotson of The Woodlands.
Pallbearers will be Denton Dorsey, Austin Dotson, Dalton Newman, Kemp Newman, Tim Dotson, Ronnie Davis, Jeff Davis and Cliff Hickman. Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult 7 Men’s Sunday School Class.
Visitation will be from 5pm until 8pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons, or the First Baptist Church children’s building fund, 207 West Main St., Henderson, Texas 75652
