Thomas W. Goldstone WOODSTOCK-Thomas W. Goldstone, 78, passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Kingston Hospital. Born Nov. 19, 1935, in Houston, Texas, he was the son of the late Frank and Florence Smith Goldstone and was a resident of Woodstock since 1966. Tom was a staff programmer with IBM in Poughkeepsie from 1961 until 1966 and then in Kingston until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Overlook United Methodist Church in Woodstock, an active volunteer at the Kingston Senior Learning Center, a member of the Performing Arts of Woodstock in the 1970’s and 80’s, a member of the Woodstock Rescue Squad and served as a past president and was an avid boating enthusiast. He was predeceased by his wife, Lucille Welter Phillips Goldstone, Oct. 31, 2011. Surviving are his children, Kathy Goldstone and her spouse Carolyn Palo of Newark, Del., Mark Alan Goldstone and his wife Jackie of Accord and Gregory Goldstone and his wife Helen, of Port Jefferson, three step-children, Sharon Holsapple and her husband David and Noreen Hermanski and her fiance Richard Lykes of Saugerties and Sandra Phillips and her companion, Gerhardt Krein of Kingston, a brother Frank Peter Goldstone of Houston, Texas and a sister Elizabeth Ann Derby of Austin, Texas, nine grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday 3 to 7 p.m. at Lasher Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Tinker St., Woodstock. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Overlook United Methodist Church, 233 Tinker St., Woodstock. Burial will be private in Woodstock Cemetery.
