Dustin Edward
Mercer

Dustin Edward Mercer, 24 of Houston, passed away on Monday December 15, 2014 with wife, family and friends by his side. He was born April 6th, 1990 to Bill and Debbie Mercer. He is survived by his wife Katie Jo Mercer of Houston, Texas; parents Bill and Debbie Mercer of Clute, Texas; sisters, Crystal Sierra and husband Adam Sierra of Richwood, Texas; Lacey Roberson and husband Scott Roberson of Perryton, Texas; nieces, Mallory Sierra, Audrey Sierra, & Kaylynn Roberson; grandparents, Jim & Melba Mokry, Julie Mercer, and Bill & Cathy Mercer and numerous aunts &uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Myrna McKinney.

Dustin graduated from Texas A&M with a BS of Forestry in 2011 (class of 2012). He enjoyed the great outdoors and going on camping trips while rising to the accomplishment of Eagle Scout in 2008. He was employed by the Forestry division of Parks & Recreation for the City of Houston as a Forester.

Dustin was very passionate about winning any type of game, whether it be playing a sport, video games, or just sitting around the table and playing board or card games (nertz). He loved hanging out with his family and friends as well as his two dogs, Teya and Mia, who he enjoyed taking on walks to the park with his wife. He was a kind hearted soul who's laugh alone would make you smile. He will be dearly missed as one of the good ones, taken far too soon.

The family will honor him with a memorial service at Rosewood Funeral Home in Porter, Texas on Saturday, December 20th at 10am and in Lake Jackson at First Baptist Church at 3pm.
