William M. "Bill" McDonald
February 10, 1930 - December 15, 2014

William M. "Bill" McDonald, age 84, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014. He is survived by his ever loving wife, Barbara "Bob" McDonald; daughters Kathleen McHargue and husband Steve; Cindy Green and husband Steve. Grandchildren: Joshua McHargue; John-Paul McHargue and wife Monica; Kathryn McHargue Bailey and husband Garrett; Jake Green and Shane Green. Great-grandson: Ryder McHargue. Brother: Robert McDonald and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill grew up in Fort Worth, TX graduating from Paschal HS, attended North Texas Agriculture College and graduated from Texas A&M with a BS degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he began his career with Humble Oil until joining the Navy in November, 1955. Bill served in the Seabees until 1957. He continued his career with Humble Oil after his service. Bill had a satisfying and successful career with Humble Oil/Exxon for 39 years. His specialty was offshore and platform pipeline design. Bill's primary area of responsibility was the Gulf of Mexico with assignments in the North Sea, the Red Sea, the Pacific Ocean, and the Indian Ocean.

Bill was a resident of Spring Branch for 42 years as well as a member of Fair Haven United Methodist Church for the same period. He served at Fair Haven in every possible capacity including church committees, groundskeeper, as well as a pretty good catcher and first baseman for the church softball team.
Bill was a devoted husband and father; a dedicated friend; and true servant. He will be missed by all who knew him; and welcomed home to heaven with great rejoicing.

Family and friends will gather for a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2014, in the sanctuary of Fair Haven United Methodist Church, 1330 Gessner in Houston, 77055. Reverend Paul Thomasson and Reverend Robert "Bob" Luton will lead the services celebrating this wonderful man's life. Immediately following the services all are invited to visit with the family at a reception.
