Wayne Walter Clark, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on November 21, 2014. He was born January 18, 1925, in Provo, Utah, to Walter Edward and Violet Catherine Christensen Clark. He grew up in Georgetown, Bear Lake County, Idaho; served in the Army in
World War II; then served a mission in Denmark for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Wayne graduated from Brigham Young University and received a Ph.D. from Texas A&M. On September 19, 1951, he married Colleen Clark in the Salt Lake Temple for
time and eternity; he was married for 62 years to the love of his life. He was a professor of Economics at BYU for over 30 years and loved teaching and working with the students. He was also a Department Chair, Director of Cooperative Education, and Associate
Director of the BYU Jerusalem Center. He served in many callings in the church and had a life-long commitment to the gospel. He worked hard to provide for his seven children and was a wonderful example to them: David (Pat), Kathryn Hymas (Rick), MaryLynn Olson
(Eric), Karen Willmore (Ernie), Marlene Bluth (Eric), Jenette Jenkins (Scott), Steven (Trish). He loved to work in his garden and to play softball, racquetball, and golf. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife. Wayne is survived by members of his family
who will miss him greatly, including 31 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Edgemont 9th Ward Chapel, 4295 North Canyon Road, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Tuesday, November 25, from 6-8:00 p.m. and
at the church Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment, East Lawn Memorial Hills. Condolences may be sent online at www.bergmortuary.com.
