STANFORD - T.J. "Jeff" Hill, 55, of Stanford, KY died Thursday, November 20, 2014, at his home. He was born October 3, 1959 in Stanford, KY to Nancy Ann Miller Hill and the late T.J. Hill III. He was the widower of Cindy Snow Hill. T.J. was a lifelong member of the New Beginnings United Methodist Church as well as a current member of the church's board of trustees. He was a graduate of Lincoln County High School and Texas A&M University. At the time of his death, he was a Member of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #60, member of the Lexington Consistory Scottish Rite, Chairman of the Lincoln County Democratic Party, chairman for the Stanford E.M.S. board of directors, treasurer and board member of the Foundation for the Historical McCormack Meeting House, Incorporated. T.J. was an army veteran; leaving the service with the rank of Captain. He was a member of the Caswell Saufley Post#18 American Legion, he was past Master of the Lincoln Masonic Lodge #60, past president of the Stanford Rotary and he was a former U.S. Deputy Marshall. On November 4, 2014, T.J. was elected Mayor of Stanford. He would have taken office on January 1, 2015. Survivors include his son, Thomas Hill V; his mother, Nancy Miller Hill; his sister Carol Hill, all of Stanford, KY; his mother-in-law, Deanie Snow of Kings Mountain, KY; a sister-in-law, Sandra Snow Kline (James) of Lancaster, KY; a maternal Uncle, Jim Ed Miller of Pecos, TX; a maternal Aunt, Carol Jean Kelley (Bill) of Dallas, TX; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 4:30pm to 9pm and Wednesday, November 26, 2014, from 10am to time of funeral service of 1pm at the Stuart Underwood Auditorium, Lincoln County High School, 60 Education Way, Stanford, KY. A police honor guard will be present during visitation hours. Reverends David Gambrel, Jay Mumper and Jeff Bramel will be officiating the service. Masonic rites will be given at 8pm Tuesday during visitation hours. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery, Caswell Saufley Post #18 American Legion will present Military Honors at the cemetery. Casketbearers will be John Hackley, Charles Samuel Gilliland, Billy Hastie, J.P. Jones, Wade Watts, Michael Clem and Tyler McGuffey. Honorary pall-bearers will be the Officers of the Stanford Police Department and the Stanford E.M.S. Staff. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to any of the following organizations: the Lincoln County Educational Fund, Lupus Foundation of America-Minus One, the Stanford E.M.S. or the Foundation of the Historical McCormack Meeting House, Inc. Spurlin Funeral Home Stanford is in charge of Arrangements.
