Orville Long "Buck" Allbritton

Orville Long ("Buck") Allbritton was entrusted to God's loving care on November 21, 2014 in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was 82 years old and was born June 9, 1932 in Winn Parish, Louisiana to Jesse Carolinis Allbritton and Annie Long Allbritton Sasser. Orville was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Florence Sowers and Benjamin Floyd Allbritton and grandparents, Josie Wright and John Norris Long. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Kathryn ("Sunny") Spencer Allbritton, a sister, Carolyn Allbritton Hill of Taylor, Texas, an uncle H.F. Allbritton and wife Barbara from Covington, Louisiana, an uncle Joseph Norris Long and wife Maureen from Shreveport, Louisiana, a nephew William Paul Hill and wife Leilani, nieces Melanie Hill, Jessica Hill and Elizabeth Hill Houghton and husband Joe and numerous cousins who loved him dearly. Orville was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and a graduate of Texas A&M University in the class of 1955. He was a track star at both schools. Orville received his master's from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He was a Captain and Commanding Officer of Company B in the Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked for over 30 years for Georgia-Pacific Corporation and retired as the manager of the Georgia-Pacific plant in Richmond, Virginia. Since retirement Orville divided his time between Winnfield, Louisiana and Bumpass, Virginia. Orville was an avid Aggie fan and tried to attend as many games as possible each year. The Aggies have lost one of their most faithful fans. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 250 Williams St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30303. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 2888 Highway 84 East in Winnfield, Louisiana on Tuesday, November 25 at 11 a.m. The service will be officiated by Reverend Dick DeBusk and Reverend Duane Moreno.
