Henry S. "Doc" Layton(1934 - 2014)

Henry S. "Doc" Layton, 80, of Fort Worth passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014. Graveside service: He will be laid to rest at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Memorials: The family requests donations in lieu of flowers be made to an Alzheimer's charity. He was born Aug. 19, 1934, to Norma and Henry Layton. He attended Northside High School andTexas A&M University where he studied engineering, graduating in 1953. He later joined the Army and was stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama from 1958 to 1960. He went on to work for Borg Warner in Chicago, for the U.S. Patent Office in Washington, D.C., and then as a patent attorney in Arlington, Va. Henry returned to Fort Worth after retiring. Henry was a Boy Scout and a Scout leader, raced power boats and enjoyed the outdoors, water and snow skiing. He was loved by family and friends and will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Henry Layton; sister, Latryl Ohendalski; and brother-in-law, John Ohendalski. Survivors: Nephew, John Henry Ohendalski and wife, Tammie; niece, Joy Pierce and husband, Scot; and several cousins.
