Thomas Edwin "Ted" Moody V passed from this life on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. He was born on April 27, 1968 in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from MacArthur High School. He was a proud alumnus ofTexas A&M University, receiving his bachelor's degree in Accounting in 1990. He received his CPA license in 1998 and worked for 23 years for HCA in healthcare administration in Houston and San Antonio.
Ted married Yvonne Rode on November 30, 1991, after having met at Texas A&M. He was a devoted husband and loving father to their two daughters, Amber and Ashley. He instilled the value of servant leadership in his family and those with whom he worked, and was known to be caring, loyal and generous of heart. He was quick to make jokes and loved to spend time with family and friends.
Ted's many interests allowed him to touch the lives of those who knew and loved him. He was active in church ministry, including serving on church leadership teams, teaching Sunday school and sponsoring church youth events. One of his great passions was spending time with young people, including coaching many sports teams, serving as a counselor at the GOLD Youth Leadership Camp, and spending quality time with his nieces and nephews.
Ted also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and sports of any kind. He recently began volunteering at Dan's House of Hope and Ronald McDonald House, and found much joy in teaching ESL classes at Faith Lutheran Church. He left us too soon and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. We rest assured in the knowledge that he has found peace with his Savior and will be watching over us always.
The visitation will be held Friday, October 31, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris St, Bellaire, TX. Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Faith Lutheran Church, 4600 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, TX.
Ted is survived by wife Yvonne Rode Moody and their daughters Amber and Ashley; his parents Cynthia Jobe of San Antonio and Thomas Edwin "Tem" Moody IV and Lucille Moody of Marble Falls; sisters Pam & Keith Theis and Cynde & Larry Zietlow, all of San Antonio; Yvonne's parents Allen & Helen Rode of Fredericksburg; Yvonne's sister Susan Rode-Laughlin; nieces and nephews Julia & Jeff Collins & their son Keaton, Kevin Theis, Kirsten Theis, Adam Laughlin, and Allen & Carissa Laughlin; and by many, many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Bellaire; Dan's House of Hope, Houston; or to the charity of your choice .
