William Eugene "Gene" Cory, 85, of West Tawakoni, passed away July 22, 2012 at his home. He was born April 5, 1927 in Dallas to William Leroy and Maude Mussie Cole Cory. Gene proudly served his country in both the Navy and Air Force. He was a Retired Electrical Engineer at SwRI in San Antonio. He is survived by his son, Bill Cory and wife Jo of Echo, Alabama; daughter, Karen Cory of West Tawakoni; grandchildren, Mona Jackson and husband Michael of Quinlan, Matthew Cory of Austin, Andrew Cory of Austin; great grandchildren, Keith Jackson, and Piper Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Cory. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6-7 PM at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville. Funeral Service will follow immediately at 7:00 PM in the Lynch Funeral Chapel in Greenville with Royse Litchfield officiating. Online Condolences may be made atlynchfuneralservice.com.
