Joseph Braxton Doak
February 14, 1928 - May 12, 2014
Dr. Doak is survived by his wife Pat, his eldest son jack and wife Sandy, daughter Pam and her husband
Jerry Wilkerson, youngest son Steve and his wife Robin, brother jack and his wife Ruth, his brother in law
Robert Allen, and godson Evan Britt. He had nine Grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Dr. Doak graduated from A&M University, served his country as a U.S. Air Force Officer and after his term was
completed he set up his private Veterinary Practice in 1953. He was known as a “Renaissance Man”. Brax could
do it all! From flying small planes; making sports jackets; building a sailboat in the garage, to singing and dancing
through Rogers and Hammerstein’s musicals with his wife. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18, from 3-5pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6000 “S R L Thornton Frwy, Dallas, TX 75232. Funeral Services will be
held Monday, May 19 at 11am at Elmwood El Buen Samaritano UMC, 1315 Berkley Avenue, Dallas 75224.
