Donald L. Giles
July 13, 1937 - October 23, 2014

Donald Leroy Giles died peacefully Thursday October 23, 2014 at a local hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was a devoted Christian, husband and father. He was born July 13, 1937 in Texarkana. Donald attended Liberty-Eylau and graduated from Texas High School (class of '55) and Texas A&M University (College Station, Texas class of '59) with degrees in Geological Engineering and Business Administration. Donald served his commission in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He also held an M.B.A. in Finance. 
Donald spent his entire career in the oil and gas industry primarily in Houston and was Founder and Chairman of the Board of Gas Producers Liquids and Co-Chairman of Quest Energy, LLC (predecessor to Quest Enterprises, Inc.) and President of Circle G partners, LLP. 
He was a former alumnus (member of the Corps of Cadets) and staunch supporter of Texas A&M University until the end. He made several supportive contributions to the College Station campus and was very engaged in contributing to the founding of programs at the Texarkana A&M University Texarkana campus (with emphasis in the development of entrepreneurial state of art technology). 

He was preceded in death by his parents Emitt Giles and Frances Thomas Giles Smith. 

Survivors include his wife, Lajuana Stipp Allday Giles; Dr. Joanne Giles (mother of his children); three sons and daughters -in law,,Douglas L. Giles, D.D.S. and his wife Kristen and their son Benjamin; Robert N. Giles and his wife Sharon and their children Jonathan and Samuel; David Giles, Esq. and his children David, Michael and Natassia;brother and sister-in-law, Michael Giles and his wife Patti and their children Sarah and Nick; two sisters and brother-in-law, Glenda Linberg; and her children,Cindy and Chris and Jo Anne Hovland and her husband Don. 

Services will be held at 2pm Friday, October 31, 2014 at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Brad Morgan officiating. Burial will be at Redwater Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane. 

Family will receive Friends from 6 to 8pm Thursday, October 30, 2014 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.

Memorials can be made to Williams Memorial United Methodist Church.
