ROESSLER, Gerard C. (Gary) Gerard C. (Gary) Roessler, 77, passed away on Saturday, September 6, in Greeneville, Tennessee, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 17, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Electra, Texas, with Rev. Richard Kirkham officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Electra. Gary was born on September 4, 1937, in Electra, Texas, to the late Charles and Mary (Hartman-gruber) Roessler. He graduated from Electra High School in 1955 and received his BBA from Texas A&M in 1960. He was commissioned as an Artillery Officer in the U.S. Army at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, where he served his entire two-year obligation. He attained the Reserve Rank of Captain. Gary was employed at DIXICO in Dallas, beginning as a Sales Trainee in 1962. He became an Assistant Sales Manager, then Sales Service Manager where he remained until he filled the position of Purchasing Agent in 1965. DIXICO sponsored him in an accelerated Management Course at American Management Association in New York City. Soon thereafter he became Special Assistant attending to Frito-Lay as Assistant National Accounts Manager. He was later promoted to Dallas Sales Service Manager and then to Vice President of Sales, a position which he retained until his retirement. Growing up on the family farm in Punkin Center (near Electra) Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing. In high school he participated in track and baseball. He enjoyed outdoor activities, including tennis, sandlot football and baseball. He was an avid sports spectator and was known as a "real football nut," especially where the Aggies and Cowboys were concerned. Gary's parents and two sisters, Dolores Herbers, and Evelyn Helms, preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters, Kim Roessler of Johnson City, TN, Beth Smith of Greeneville, TN, and Pam Hartwell of Benbrook, TX; granddaughters Taylor Trevino and Leigh Duncan; grandson Huxley Hartwell; sisters Hattie Nickell, Rosemary Brooks, Ethel George, Leona Pronitis, and Cecilia Weisenfels, and numerous nieces and nephews. Died: Sept. 6, 2014

Gary Roessler, 77, of Greeneville, passed away peacefully Saturday.

He is survived by his daughters: Kim Roessler, Beth Smith and Pam Hartwell; and his grandchildren Taylor Trevino, Leigh Duncan and Huxley Hartwell.

A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date in his hometown of Electra, Texas.

Memorial donations may be made in support of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life team Patel's Belles.
