36 years Melinda was a gifted teacher of chemistry and physics at high schools in Mesquite, Dallas and Opelika, Ala. Her last 19 years were spent at Mesquite High School. Melinda graduated with a bachelor's of science from Texas A&M and a master's of science
from Auburn University. She was a very family-oriented person and an avid reader. Melinda was preceded in death by her father, Edwin D. Powell; and her father-in-law, Charles E. Tuttle. Survivors: In addition to her husband, Melinda is survived by her daughters,
Nicole Tuttle and Melissa Tuttle; mother, Margie Powell Alexander; her brother, Dr. Dan Powell and wife, Debbie; her mother-in-law, Kathlyn Tuttle; sister-in-law, Kathy Nicks and husband, Bill; nieces and nephews, Jason and Kersti, Alex and Anne, Adrienne,
