Among those who miss her are her two sons, Jacob and Augustus Melancon, of Palmyra, her nephew Rogelio (Roy) Salinas IV, of San Antonio, Texas, her mother, Rosemarie Carpenter of Palmyra, her father, Michael Carpenter and his wife Carol of Baton Rouge, her aunt, Linda Carpenter of West Brookfield, Massachusetts, her brother Marcus Carpenter of Costa Mesa, California, and her sister, Rachel Salinas and her husband Rogelio (Roy) Salinas III of San Antonio, as well as Alix' former husband, Daniel Melancon, also of Palmyra. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pat and Duane Carpenter and Emma and Frank Hlad. She also leaves behind numerous farmers and gardeners whom she helped while working in Palmyra and the surrounding counties. Although a short memorial ceremony was held in Palmyra, Sunday, August 17, there will be a family gathering to commemorate her life at later date.
