John Warren Schattenberg Sr.
SCHATTENBERG
John Warren Schattenberg, Sr., loving husband, father and grandfather, age 87, died Thursday August 7, 2014. A native of San Antonio, Warren attended Texas A&M University during which time he met his wife, Mary-Anne Schattenberg. They married on April 8, 1950. He served in WWII as a medic in San Diego and the South Pacific. Warren worked at City Public Service as an engineer where, among other things, he was instrumental in the design and development of Braunig and Calaveras Lake power plants. After being in charge of "raising the roof" of the CPS building, by adding several floors above the existing structure, Warren retired in September of 1988. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary-Anne and his sister, Glen Gorney. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Jo Dodson and husband, Charles; son, John W. Schattenberg and wife, Jeanne; grandson, Jordan Schattenberg; brother, Gordon Schattenberg; sister, Marjorie Seawalt; his dog and travel buddy, Cricket; his extended Duke family, Gwynne and Mark Canales, Anne & Mike Shaw, Lynne & Bill Wheeler, Mary Lou Duke; and good friend Art Leno. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him and loved him.

SERVICE
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 11, 2014 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas A&M - The Association of Former Students at https://www.aggienetwork.com/give/ in his memory.
