James Alfred "Jim" THIGPENN IV
THIGPENN, James Alfred IV "Jim" 66, of Valrico, passed away July 23, 2014 into the arms of a loving God who does not make mistakes. He was born March 1, 1948 in Sarasota to James A. Thigpen III and Carla Phil. He served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam Conflict. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University and a member of Tau Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon. He worked for 23 years for Hillsborough County as a project manager. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Thigpenn III and by his brother, Arlin P. Thigpenn. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Nelda, three sons, James W. (Sarah) Thigpenn, Paul A. (Angelica) Thigpenn, John M. Thigpenn; a daughter, Carlie Thigpenn; two granddaughters, Jamie and Katelynn; his mother, Carla P. Thigpenn; his two brothers, Murphy (Jenny) Thigpenn, John Stone Thig-penn; and his loving mother-in-law and biggest fan, Dorothy Hinkle Flynn; and many friends and co-workers. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Friday, July 25,4 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 1 pm Saturday, July 26, at Sun City Center Funeral Home Chapel, 1851 Rickenback-er Drive, Sun City Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to donor's favorite charity. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home, (813) 634-9900
