(March 28, 1933 - July 21, 2014)
Donald Alfred Portie, age 81 of Bend, TX died Monday July 21, 2014 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital. Donald was born March 28, 1933 in Port Arthur, TX the son of William Portie and Minnie Mary (Hollander) Portie. Donald was a member of the ROTC – Texas A&M. He was a resident of Bend since 1988 and a member of the 1st Street Church of Christ. Donald worked as the Harris County Extension Agent. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Portie of Bend Son, Don Quentin Portie (Patricia) of Houston Daughters, Lee Ann Miller (Vince) of Plano Chrissie Woodward (Mike) of Bend 3 grandchildren, Chris Miller, Jasmine Woodward, and Jovie Woodward
A graveside funeral service for Donald Portie will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sand Hill Cemetery in Bend, TX. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
