June 26, 1950 - July 17, 2014 Al Lawton Bradley, Jr., 64, of Orange Beach, AL passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 after a brief illness. Mr. Bradley graduated from Texas A&M University magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Accounting, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas, and was a Certified Public Accountant. He began his career with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young. In 1985 he started his own business, Allied Realty Services in Houston, TX, managing and constructing apartment properties in Texas, Colorado and Arizona. In 2000 when he sold the company to a group of employees, the company managed over 15,000 apartment homes and had more than 250 employees. He was a member of the Houston, Texas, and National Apartment Associations, the National Multi-Housing Council, and in 2003 was named Director Emeritus and elected to the Houston Apartment Association Hall of Fame. Retiring in 2005, he became an active volunteer for the City of Orange Beach. Elected as a member of the City Council in 2012, he also served as chairman of the Finance Committee, member and past chairman of the Planning Commission, member of the Board of Adjustments and Appeals, chairman of the Telecommunications Committee, Bear Point Neighborhood Action Plan Steering Committee and Joint Mediacom Franchise Committee with Gulf Shores. He was preceded in death by his father, Al Lawton Bradley. He is survived by his mother, Betty G. Bradley, his wife Linda Herrin Bradley, daughters Jennifer Blair and Amy (Oscar) Sotuyo, son Bedford (Lauren) Handley, brothers Keith (Deborah) Bradley and Scott (Mona) Bradley, and grandchildren Jackson Warren Blair, Vaughn Lawton Blair and Margaret Mae Sotuyo. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 25 at 1pm at Orange Beach United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Hugh S. Branyon Back Country Trail in Orange Beach, PO Box 458, Orange Beach, AL 36561 or the Orange Beach United Methodist Church, 28751 Canal Rd., Orange Beach, AL 36561.
