Dr. X. B. Reed, Jr.
November 7, 1935 - September 2, 2011
Dr. X. B. Reed, Jr., of Rolla, MO, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at the age of 75. He was born on November 7, 1935 in Marlin, TX to the late X. B. Reed, Sr. and Ouida (Farmer) Reed. Dr. Reed was a Chemical Engineering professor at MS&T for 34 years. He received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He then earned his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota. He was a member of the Vineyard Church. Dr. Reed will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his wife, Mary Lee (McClelland) Reed of Rolla; three sons, Andrew Reed and wife Stacey of Rolla, X. B. (Skip) Reed III and wife Stephanie of Topanga, CA and Jonathan Reed and wife Annette of Claremont, CA; and two grandchildren, Natania and Levi. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be offered at this website. All arrangements are under the direction of the Null and Son Funeral Home of Rolla.
