January 12, 1957 – July 14, 2014

Steve Brunson, 57, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at his home in College Station. A Celebration of his life is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday July 18, 2014 at Grace Bible Church in College Station, with Reverend Lacy Largent participating.

Steve was born January 12, 1957 in Pasadena, Texas to Donald R. and Lois Johnson Brunson. He grew up in the South Houston area, attending Elementary and Middle School in Pasadena. He graduated from South Houston High School in 1975 and entered Texas A&M University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. In 1990, he and his wife Leslie returned to A&M when Steve became an accountant with the Texas A&M University System, dedicating 21 years of service and attained the position as Senior Financial Analyst with the University System.

Steve loved baseball, especially Aggie Baseball and the Houston Astros. He loved his family and friends, and truly appreciated the love and support they have given to him. He especially loved his girls, Sassy and Dixie, his adorable Yorkies.

He is survived by his wife, Leslie Brunson of College Station; his mother Lois Brunson of Montgomery, Texas; one brother, Michael Brunson and his wife Jeanne of Montgomery, Texas; sister, Myra Miller and her husband John of San Antonio; twin-sister Donna Brunson Jones of Iola, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scott and White Pulmonary Lab, C/O Scott and White Healthcare Foundation, 2401 South 31st Street, Temple, Texas., 76508.
