Sister Mona Smiley, age 79, entered into eternal life on June 2, 2014, at The Village at Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Curragh Camp, Co. Kildare, Ireland, on December 3, 1934 to David and Mary (O'Neill) Smiley. Sister Mona entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word professing her perpetual vows in 1961. She served in the Congregation's educational ministry in Louisiana, Texas and Mexico. Sister Mona is survived and dearly missed by her sister, Sister Brigida Smiley, C.C.V.I., her nephews, cousins, and by numerous friends in Ireland, the U.S. and by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of the Incarnate Word, at the Village at Incarnate Word, 4707 Broadway. Vigil Service: June 6, 2014 at 6:30p.m. Mass of Christian Burial: June 7, 2014 at 11:00a.m. Interment in the Convent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, 4503 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78209. Arrangements by:
