MARGARET ANNETTE CORTEZ KASOFSKY(1960 - 2014)
MARGARET ANNETTE CORTEZ KASOFSKY McALLEN - Margaret Annette Cortez Kasofsky, 54, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Margaret was born in Temple, Texas on January 31, 1960 and grew up in Brownsville. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School, St. Joseph Academy, Texas A&M University, and graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business. She taught school in Brownsville and McAllen and was actively involved at Abundant Grace Community Church, as well as in other community activities. She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Narciso Cortez. Margaret is survived by her three sons, Raefel Aaron Kasofsky, Jonathan Seth Kasofsky, Ira Jacob Kasofsky; her mother, Gloria Leal Cortez; a brother, Narciso (Maricela) Cortez, and four sisters, Carmen Cortez (Lance) Lewenthal, Michelle Cortez (Keith) Kirkpatrick, Selena Cortez (Steve) Macaulay, Laura Cortez (Matthew) Scirto; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today, March 31, 2014, at Abundant Grace Community Church in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
