Roll Call Tribute

William "Will" Harris II '91 January 22, 2014 10:35 AM

Submitted by spouse

William Evan Harris II ’91 (Will)  passed away on December 29, 2013 from a massive stroke suffered on Christmas Eve.  He and his family were residents of Flower Mound for the past 13 years.

For over 10 years, Will worked for Brinker International as a Facilities Manager for many of the Chili's restaurants in Texas as well as some in Oklahoma and Louisiana.  He was a loving husband, father, and beloved friend who was always willing to drop everything and lend a helping hand.  He was an avid
supporter of our troops who routinely sent care packages abroad.  In fact, when he passed away, a flag was flown over the headquarters of the Wounded Warrior Battalion (West) at Camp Pendleton, CA in honor of Will (the flag and a plaque were sent to his family by the Commanding Officer Lt. Colonel Joseph T. Allena ’91, United States Marine Corps). He was an instructor with DIVA WOW which is an organization that introduces women to shooting and shooting sports in a friendly, non-threatening environment.  They said that in 10 years, he never missed a clinic.

He leaves behind his wife, Laurie L. Harris ‘93, and their two children, son William “Evan” Harris III and daughter Lauren Elizabeth Harris.  He also leaves behind his mother, Donna Von Bloch, and brothers Gage L. Harris and Lincoln C. Harris ‘03.
