Donald Lee Hopkins 1931-2012
Donald Lee Hopkins, 81, of Fort Myers, FL, and formerly of Hillsboro and Purcellville, died Oct. 15.
He was born June 6, 1931, in Jacksonville, TX, to Onnie Lee and Ola (Vaughn) Hopkins.
After graduating from Texas A&M, he was in design, sales and marketing of technical equipment to the military and the Pentagon. He was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church. He is survived by wife of 53 years Joyce; children Brenda Hopkins of Purcellville, Bruce Hopkins of Camden, ME, Jeffrey Lee Hopkins of Lantana, TX, and Julie Hopkins of Richmond; grandchildren Vy Vong, Erin, Amy and Alexander Lee Hopkins; and great-granddaughter Katie Vong.
The funeral was held Friday, Oct. 19, followed by military honors and burial in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 3825 McGregor Blvd. Fort Myers, FL 33901.
