Christopher Gregory Pratt
PRATT Born: 02/21/1985 in Ft Lauderdale, Florida.

When Chris was seven he and his family moved to Houston which is where he spent his years in elementary, junior and high schools. He graduated from Cypress Creek High School in 2003 and was accepted into Texas A&M @ Galveston that same year where he pursued a degree in Maritime Administration. Chris was unique in that he didn't ever really study or do homework but was able to perform well on all of his tests. He graduated with high grade points in 2007 and went to work at Lloyds Register, a subsidiary of Lloyds of London. His work involved qualifying ships from all over the world to be covered under Lloyds insurance and support. In 2006, Chris joined the Coast Guard Reserve which brought value to both Lloyds and the Coast Guard as his expertise benefited both organizations.

Chris was activated by the Coast Guard during the Gulf oil spill to assist in protecting the beaches in Louisiana where the oil was endangering the inhabitants, the beaches and the wildlife.

Soon after he returned from his active Coast Guard duties, Lloyds promoted him and requested he relocate to Ft Lauderdale where he worked closely with the cruise lines in qualification, safety and engineering of the cruise ships. He purchased a house in Pembroke Pines, where he lived with his girlfriend, Lauren Lewis.

Chris' life was tragically ended on Monday, August 8 when a motorist failed to yield the right of way on one of the Florida highways.
