The Texas A&M Pre-Chiropractic Society is a student organization that exists to “educate students about the
career and philosophy of chiropractic by introducing them to the entrance requirements and schools available, and the diversity of career options, while acquainting them with the holistic values of the profession,” says the organization’s president, Matthew
Kolker ’13.
Members of the group recently traveled to Marietta, Ga., for a weekend conference at Life University. The group flew to and from Atlanta with the help of funds from donors to The Association of Former Students’
Annual Fund.
“Between air fare and gas money, the weekend was not cheap, and we wanted to assist our members in any way we could,” Kolker said. “The financial help from The Association was a huge blessing.” While at the
conference, the members heard presentations related to the field.
“These people were truly happy to either be a chiropractor or help others become one, and their joy made the experience nothing short of inspiring,” Kolker said.
In a thank you note to The Association, Kolker wrote, “I cannot thank you enough for what you allowed us to do. We are a small organization, with few means. Without funding from The Association and its benefactors, our trip would not have been possible. For
our group, it not only confirmed our dreams of becoming chiropractors, but it completely opened our eyes to a new post-graduate option. The aid you gave us not only helped us individually, but it showcased our group to other students around the U.S. Thank
you!"
