Howdy from your President!

What a year for Aggie athletics! Most recently, our women's track and field team won the SEC Outdoor Championship (while our men's team placed third) and our women's tennis team finished its historic season as the NCAA runner-up last night. Whoop!

* For their 120th touring season May 17-27, the Singing Cadets are performing in some of China's finest concert halls (as well as at the Great Wall of China and in a command performance at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing) and visiting top spots in Beijing, Xi'an, Hangzhou and Shanghai. The full story is at http://tx.ag/xg9mo4.

* Congratulations to our colleagues at Texas A&M at Qatar: Dr. Khalid Qaraqe, professor of electrical and computer engineering, was named Best Researcher of the Year, and the university's Research Office was named Research Office of the Year, during the 5th Annual Forum of the Qatar National Research Fund.

* Due to renovations scheduled for the Jack K. Williams Administration Building, the Office of Undergraduate Studies and Office of Graduate Studies have relocated to Room 001 of The Commons dormitory complex on the south side of campus. All phone and mailstop numbers remain the same.

* Congratulations to the Corps of Cadets and Cincinnati-based uniform vendor Fechheimer Brothers. The iconic Class A Dress Coat, reintroduced into the Corps this past year, received the top honor in the Specialized Agency category from the North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers & Distributors.

* I hope everyone has a safe and fun Memorial Day holiday next Monday. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service experts offer some great tips for grilling and food safety: http://tx.ag/mfxn9n

Until next week, Gig 'em Aggies. Keep in touch by emailing me at president@tamu.edu, following me on
