James Stidham Lee
San Angelo
James Stidham Lee, 92, of San Angelo, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo.
He was born January 15, 1916 in San Angelo, Texas. He married Billee Maxine Holland on July 2, 1948 in Nolan, Texas. James served in WWII in the United States Army. James was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Open Door Sunday
school class in Sweetwater. He worked for the United States Gypsum from 1948 till 1978, until he retired. He also ranched in Nolan for years. He lived in Sweetwater until 1947. He graduated from Mertzon High School and attended San Angelo State University
for 1 year and transferred to Texas Aandamp;M for four years. James was a member of Roscoe American Legion and served in the Nolan County Honor Guard. He was a member of the gun club and his hobby was restoring old cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Hattye Lee.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Lee of San Angelo, daughter Rochelle Hurt and husband Bill of San Angelo, sister Lera Jeane Lee of Sweetwater, stepdaughter Rissa Hurt of San Angelo.
Services will be Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with burial following at Slaters Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m., Tuesday December 16, 2008, until service time at McCoy Funeral Home.
