Traditional Midnight Yell Practice

Texas A&M’s yell practice in preparation for the football game with the University of Missouri Tigers Saturday (Nov. 24) will indeed be conducted at midnight Friday, university officials have confirmed, thus being a fully bona fide traditional Midnight Yell Practice in Kyle Field.

Previously, yell practices associated with games on Thanksgiving or the following Friday or Saturday have been scheduled on varying days and at times other than midnight, prompting Texas A&M to issue the clarification this year, assuring Aggies and Aggie fans that it’s “game on” for Midnight Yell Friday night.

“We need the 12th Man to show up big time Friday night for Yell Practice and show Aggie-style support for the team, Coach Sumlin and everyone else associated with the program,“ emphasized Head Yell Leader Nelson Ingram. He said Coach Sumlin will attend Midnight Yell.

Not that Aggies are deterred by anything less than the most ominous of weather conditions when it comes to Midnight Yell Practice, the late-night forecast for Aggieland Friday is for moderate temperatures with only a slight chance for a shower, so a high turnout is expected as the yell leaders and others will do their Aggie best to get everybody in fever pitch for Mizzou.

As always, the yell leaders and the Aggie Band will lead a crowd from the Corps of Cadets area—the Quad— and make their way through campus to the northeast entrance to Kyle Field, where tens of thousands of Aggies and Aggie fans are expected to be awaiting them for that familiar round of yells and tales. Kyle Field gates open at 10:30 p.m.
