The Association received a letter from Sebastian J. Eluvathingal ’13, the 2011-12 president of Texas A&M’s student chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, expressing his gratitude for financial assistance
that allowed more than 20 A&M graduate students to attend the annual ASHRAE meeting, held in San Antonio last summer.
Eluvathingal also forwarded individual notes of appreciation from many of the students who attended.
“I learned a lot, including ground-source heat pumps, energy modeling, calibration, smart grid, and others,” wrote Sunglok Do ’12. “It was a good chance to build my social network with experts in the building energy field.”
Sukjoon Oh ’13 was able to meet the authors of the books and papers that he cites in his thesis. “I also met many people from national laboratories and talked with them about my thesis and their work,” he wrote. “It was a great experience and I will not forget
the memories of the time I spent in San Antonio. Thank you very much.”
