The Association of Former Students supports Texas A&M University and former student programs that promote the Aggie Spirit and strengthen the Aggie Network.
Support for student organizations, beloved traditions, scholarships and former student programs is made possible by the generous annual donations of former students, Aggie parents, Texas A&M faculty and
staff and other active supporters of the Aggie Network.
Each year, The Association receives hundreds of thank you notes like the one below from Aggie scholarship recipients, student organizations, teachers and other beneficiaries.
On this Thanksgiving week, and every day, The Association thanks you for your commitment to Texas A&M.
Dear donor to The Association of Former Students,
I would like to greatly thank you for your contribution to my success! Without the help of this scholarship, and a few federal grants, I would have not had the opportunity to be part of this wonderful university. I became a homeless youth during the beginning
of my senior year in high school. This left me responsible for supporting myself by my part-time job and off the generosity of other individuals.
With this drastic event in my life, I began to worry if college was even in my reach. By being involved in the community and maintaining an A average in high school, I was luckily accepted into Texas A&M University. I dreamed of eventually making a difference for
others by becoming a teacher with my degree in interdisciplinary studies. I have always expected the best of myself, and I look forward to eventually receiving my Master's degree in education. With your help and some amazing guidance, I was able to accept
my offer to the best college in the nation. My future would not have been made possible if it wasn't for the support of thousands of former Fightin' Texas Aggies!
The Association of Former Students has allowed me to do so much even in the short amount of time I have been at A&M. Without your support, I would not have attended Fish Camp, paid my tuition, and been involved in the deep-rooted traditions of this great university.
You will never truly understand how much I appreciate this wonderful gift and how much this means to me.
As a freshman, I can only hope that one day I will be able to return the favor to students who wish to become part of this Aggie family. I ask that you keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I continue this special time in my life.
Thanks and Gig 'em!
