The Graduate Student Council created the Aggie Core Values Award in 2012 to recognize a graduate student who exemplifies the Aggie Spirit by consistently displaying the characteristics that are the Aggie Core Values.

Thanks to the generous annual donations of former students, Aggie parents, Texas A&M faculty and staff and other active supporters of the Aggie Network, The Association of Former Students is proud to help sponsor the award by offering a scholarship for an Aggie Ring to the winner.

The Association of Former Students recently received a thank you note from last year's winner, doctoral candidate Archana Gawde ’13, to be shared with the many former students who made the award possible:

“I want to really thank you and your office, especially the awards committee, for this year’s GSC Aggie
Core Values Award. I was overwhelmed to receive this award, and GSC indeed made it more special by a thorough description of the award selection process and by taking time and effort to introduce me at the
award reception.

“As much I appreciate the award itself, I am also very thankful for the gift certificate towards my Aggie Ring!! This is indeed a prestigious award and an ecstatic moment for me. I will always cherish these moments spent at Texas A&M University. With this award, I feel more encouraged to continue leadership and selflessly serve the community that I belong to. At all times, I will remember this day and will try my best to live the Aggie Core Values of excellence, integrity, leadership, respect, loyalty and selfless-service."
