William George "Bill" Patton, of Rathdrum, Idaho passed away April 1, 2017. Private family services are planned for a later date.

Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Tom and Erma Patton, Bill graduated high school and attended a few years at Texas A&I College, now named Texas A&M Kingsville. When World War II started he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Master Technical Sergeant. He married Lucy Watson in December 1946, and earned his Electrical Engineering degree from Texas A&M in 1948.

He and Lucy moved to Houston where he worked for Houston Lighting and Power Co., retiring from there June, 1985. They moved to College Station in 1992 and enjoyed retirement with friends. After the death of Lucy, his wife of over 63 years, he moved to North Idaho to be close to his son. With multiple daily visits by his son Mike, and the excellent care from the staff at Generations Assisted Living, Bill lived a happy and contented life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy; and brother, Bruce Patton. Survivors include his two children, Mike and Betty; his grandchildren, Kyle, Lark, Tommy and wife, Alyx; and great-granddaughter, Kylie.

William George (Bill) Patton, of Rathdrum, Idaho passed away on April 1, 2017.

Bill was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Tom and Erma Patton. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1938 and attended a few years at Texas A&I College in Kingsville. When World War II started, he enlisted with the Marine Corps and attained Master Technical Sergeant by the time of his discharge. He married Lucy Watson Patton in December 1946 and finished a degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M in 1948. He and Lucy moved to Houston where he worked for Houston Lighting and Power until retirement in June 1985. They moved to College Station in 1992 to enjoy retirement with friends. After the death of Lucy, his wife of over 63 years, he moved to North Idaho to be close to his son, Mike. With multiple visits per day by Mike and excellent care by the people at Generations Assisted Living, Bill Patton lived a happy and contented life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Patton, and his brother Bruce Patton. Survivors include his two children, Mike and Betty, his grandchildren, Kyle, Lark, Tommy and wife Alyx, and one great-granddaughter, Kylie.
