William Claud Snodgrass, Jr.
June 4, 1927 - March 29, 2017
The family visitation for W.C. Snodgrass will be Friday, March 31st at 6:00, and the funeral service is Saturday, April 1st at 1:00. Both services will be held at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.
William Claud Snodgrass, Jr. was born June 4, 1927 in Turkey, Texas. He grew up in the home of William and Ura Snodgrass in Graham, Texas. W.C. served in the navy from 1946-1947. He attended Tarlelton State College and Texas A&M University. Shortly after graduating
with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, he moved back to Graham. He began working at the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation as a civil engineer. He met and married Mary Evelyn Pickard on October 20, 1952. After having their first son, they
moved to Wichita Falls, TX where they completed their family of five children. After 37 years of service to the Highway Department, he retired.
W.C. was a longtime member of Lamar Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, served as a deacon, and sang in the Joy Choir. He also enjoyed camping with a group called Rocking Wheels. He and Mary lived in Rolling Meadows for 10 years.
He is preceded in death by his father William Claud Snodgrass, Sr., mother Ura Snodgrass, sister Winnie Crawford, son Martin Snodgrass, and son Brian Snodgrass.
Surviving members of the family include his son Don Snodgrass and wife Debby of Loganville, GA, daughter-in-law Tina Snodgrass of Spring, TX, daughter-in-law Kim Blackney of Wichita Falls, TX, daughter Elaine Cox of Richardson, TX , and daughter Laura Russell
and her husband Eric of Wichita Falls.
He leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Kevin Snodgrass, Jeff Snodgrass, Shanna Allen, Brad Snodgrass, Landon Patterson, Emory Patterson, Rachel Petrosky, and Heather Youngblood.
Kayla Allen, Kamryn Allen, Elijah Snodgrass, and Ruby Snodgrass are his beautiful great grandchildren.
