On Saturday, the Corps of Cadets will march the 18-mile trek from campus to the Brazos River and back for the March to the Brazos.
The March to the Brazos serves as the unofficial transition of outfit leadership from one Class to the next. Each Corps outfit raises money for the March to the Brazos, and all proceeds from the event go to the March of Dimes’ efforts to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
This is the 40th anniversary for the annual March to the Brazos and, according to an Eagle article published about last year's event, is the largest and most successful student-led fundraiser for the March of Dimes foundation in the U.S. Last year, March to the Brazos raised more than $113,000.
