First Day Of School In Aggieland

Stephanie Cannon '06 August 31, 2015 10:14 AM updated: September 1, 2015 8:55 AM

Today, Aug. 31, is the first day of school for Texas A&M's 2015 fall semester.

Whoop! Welcome back, students! The Association of Former Students and its volunteers are excited to support you as you experience and write your Aggie story. (Speaking of, if you want to support students, traditions and former students, visit tx.ag/give. Small gifts make a big difference. See how here.)

Welcoming the Class of 2019, Texas A&M held its undergraduate convocation on Sunday, which was attended by thousands. (See a photo album of the event.) Speakers, like University President Michael Young and Tim McLaughlin '90, who is head of the department of visualization, encouraged students to embrace creativity and grow as individuals during their time in Aggieland.

This is President Young's first convocation. Read a Q&A published by Texas Aggie magazine at tx.ag/younginterview.

Here at The Association, we're taking Old Army back to school! To celebrate the first day of school, we're taking you on a virtual tour today as we snap photos around campus. Follow us on Twitter as we roam, and make suggestions as to what you want to see. You can click on twitter.com/AggieNetwork to watch (you don’t have to have a Twitter account to see our posts).
