The PB&J Project is a student organization supported in part by donors to The Association of Former Students. Every Wednesday, the PB&J Project provides the opportunity for Aggie students
to donate their lunch money and in turn receive a PB&J Sandwich. One hundred percent of the donations go directly to feed impoverished school children in Kenya. Mary Nauert '15 sent us this letter on behalf of the student organization.
Howdy!
On behalf of The PB&J Project I would like to sincerely thank The Association of Former Students for the monetary donation to assist our annual operations.
“Live simply so others can simply live” is a quote that our members believe describes The PB&J Project perfectly! As our mission statement says, we are committed to promoting and living a simple lifestyle in order to provide for those in need.
In order to achieve our mission, we give out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every Wednesday in exchange for a donation that goes directly to our partner organization, Kenya Kids Can. The PB&J Project also hosts an annual free garage sale called Jubilee!
to give back to our local Bryan-College Station community. One hundred percent of the donations we receive for sandwiches go to help feed underprivileged children in Kenya. Since we don’t keep any of the donation money, funds are usually stretched thin within
our organization.
“With the $300 given to The PB&J Project by The Association of Former Students, we will be able to reach out to more people in need and expand the organization,” said officer Gina Martinez ’16.
“We cannot thank The Association of Former Students enough for helping with the growth of our organization,” explains President Meghan Kelly ’14.
Your generous contribution will enable us to continue our mission to provide for those who so desperately need it.
Thanks and gig ’em!
