Texas A&M has been in my life since my Alice High School graduation in 1941.
In June 1943, my junior year, a troop train picked me up at College Station, which ended my education for the next three years. After serving in the U.S. Army in France, Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Occupied Japan, I returned to complete my education, receiving
a Civil Engineering degree, completing my ROTC contract, and being commissioned a 2nd LT in 1949.
After serving in the National Guard and Army Reserve while building highways with the Texas Highway Department, I retired from the military as a Lt Col after 33 years and from the Texas Highway Department after 38 years.
I joined the Texas A&M Association of Former Students in 1949 and have contributed consistently for 63 years. A&M has been an important part of my life and I want my contributions to help others to have this opportunity for themselves.
